Circling the Rim
About this month’s gathering…
I recently shared this on social media, but I think it’s worth repeating here…
I heard about an experiment done by a scientist in the early 1900s where he placed a group of caterpillars called "processionary caterpillars" in a circle around the rim of a flowerpot, each one's head following the one in front.
For days, the caterpillars kept marching in a circle, until they died of exhaustion-though food was nearby. Why?
Because their thinking was locked in a pattern, and they couldn't break free.
Sometimes we spend years thinking things that aren't true. We believe things about people that aren't true. We circle the rim of doubt for years. We circle the rim of negativity. We circle the rim of doom news cycles, lust, guilt or shame.
We don't have to settle for mentally destructive patterns, and in our Cohort Gathering this coming month, we’ll be talking about one topic in particular that I know has carved a destructive pattern for many of us: INSECURITY.
Many of us have been circling the rim of insecurity for far too long and it’s time to break free, so save the date, set your alarm, and get ready to turn on your mic and camera because I know it’s going to be a powerful discussion!
About the group chat
I’m loving all conversation, discovery and community I’m seeing in the GroupMe Chats. Please - continue to grow together in that space and take advantage of the opportunity to connect with like-minded women. Last month’s discussion on Spiritual Gifts was just the start, so if you haven’t shared anything recently, take a moment right now and connect!
